March news: A Beautiful Vinyl Single Is on Its Way. And We’re Nominated for the German Audiobook Prize.

A small and beautiful object is making its way into the world: Love Was Love Is, a limited vinyl single available at Rainbirds concerts this May, June, and July. It holds two tender cover versions of songs from the second Rainbirds album – made with care, made with love. Surprise surprise!

„Sometimes an invitation is the first step of a long journey. When Katharina Franck asked if I would arrange a Rainbirds song, I said yes immediately. Without thinking. The song was chosen by Lina Maly, with one simple wish: low in register, and very slow. No further instruction needed — that is exactly the musical space I call home. Compositions for deep female voices, with music that takes its time. I studied Lina’s voice. The way she tells a story. The way she likes to sing. Then I rewrote the song for her — without us having to talk about it much at all. The rehearsal, the recording: one single flow. As if this arrangement had always existed. Sometimes that is exactly what happens. Some call it a miracle. I call it trust and I thank Katharina for the invitation to write this cover version, with all my heart.“  (Ulrike, liner notes)

Nominated: German Audiobook Prize 2026 _ Best Radio Play

We are proud and delighted to be among the nominees for the Deutscher Hörbuchpreis 2026 in the category Best Radio Play. This year’s nominees are: Oliver Sturm (writer & director) with „Die Erschöpften“ (NDR & Deutschlandfunk), Pauline Seiberlich (director) and Hans Christoph Böhringer (writer) with „Mein Leben als Spam“ (BR) and Ulrike Haage (writer, director & composer) with „Nichts ist, sagt der Weise.
