April/May News

Here are the news on upcoming concerts,

a wonderful 7 inch release &

the radio play series „Hexe von Pendach“ becoming radio play of the month May 2026.

„Ulrike Haage, long established as the reigning authority of ambitious, compositionally rich radio-play and film music, has delivered something quiet remarkable for the Rainbirds‘ upcoming anniversary tour: a new cover version of Love Was Already There to Be Found. Written with the occasion in mind, the piece has a sense of inevitability to it, as if it had been waiting in the walls all along.“ Lina Maly requested a slow ballad, deliberately, specifically, and Haage answered that call with grace. The result is not just a song that fits the brief, but one that transcends it: tender, unhurried, and built to last.

What makes this release particularly special is its deliberate scarcity. Pressed on 7″ vinyl, the single will physically only be available at tour dates. In three venues you may also hear the song live, premiered by Lina Maly and Ulrike Haage: Berlin, Bremen, Bochum. See the dates here

The jury of the Deutsche Akademie der Darstellenden Künste selected the BR production Die Hexe von Pendach as Radioplay of the Month for May.

The jury called it „an extraordinary radioplay addressing the ever-relevant themes of religious fanaticism, social pressure, and personal guilt“ – a blend of crime novel, historical narrative, and mystery.

The jury specifically praised how the historical facts combine with the outstanding performances of the cast and the musical arrangement to form what they called „a fascinating whole.“

Haage’s music accompanies the action with a finely tuned sense of atmosphere, powerfully supporting both the emotional and dramatic moments – not relying on effects for their own sake, but building a coherent overall impact that carries the story.
