August news

We’re releasing a new EP titled Sternenhimmel a live recording with my long-time musical ally Eric Schaefer on timpani and gongs. New handmade music with a deluxe line-up, using harmonium, celesta, grand piano and Mondgestein. I wrote the music inspired by the myths and stories in Raoul Schrott’s Sternenhimmel der Menschheit, adapted into a radio play by Katja Langenbach and recorded in the intimate acoustic of the small broadcasting hall at rbb Berlin. Some of the longer takes you won’t hear in the radio play are featured here – fully expanded into a musical trip. Enjoy drifting off into the universe, and linger a while in the sound.

Also in August: a new artistic video for the title track Alles Licht will have its premiere. Filmed in Denmark with Neil Huggett and artwork by Alfio Bonanno. The video captures my deep connection to nature and the landscapes that inspired Alles Licht.

At the same time, I’m deep in the process of composing for a new radio play series, dark in tone, with layered vocals, cello, and electronics. It’s intense, demanding and deeply inspiring work.

And yes – there’s a surprise concert on the horizon of August. More soon.

Stay tuned, stay curious, and keep your eyes on the stars.
