Artist Chiharu Shiota invites Haage&Meyer to play in her brand new exhibition at Galerie Koenig, Berlin. It was a mind-blowing experience to play in this wonderful sculpture, called „I hope,…“. Our music and sounds seemed to inter-relate with the whole room, the messages, written on red papers. Every movement made the fine threads vibrate.
„This series was conceived after the exhibition could not open to the public due to of lockdown regulations. Renowned musicians, performers, composters and dancers close to Chiharu Shiota will bring the exhibition to life. Pianist Ulrike Haage and electronic musician Christian Meyer perform within the installation space of the nave of the former St. Agnes Church, which now houses the KÖNIG GALERIE. The space provides an impressive setting for the messages of hope and connectedness conveyed through the artistic encounters between installation and performers.“ (Press release)
